Updates Regarding Change Healthcare Services

Last Updated: 04/09/2024

Updates

04/09/2024 :

We appreciate your patience and understanding throughout the recent cyberattack incident affecting our clearinghouse portal. We are pleased to inform you that the RelayHealth clearinghouse services for CLAIM SUBMISSION are now operational.  You can resume submitting your claims from PracticeSuite without any hindrance.

However, please note that while the RelayHealth clearinghouse is accessible for claim submission, we are presently unable to access the website to track the status of claims. You can track the status of claims through the PracticeSuite Claims Dashboard within the corresponding buckets (Accepted/Clearinghouse Rejects and Payer Rejects).

Your co-operation and understanding throughout this process are deeply appreciated. Should you have any questions or require assistance with claim submissions or any other matter, please don’t hesitate to reach out to our support team.

04/02/2024 :

As we begin the month, we wanted to ensure that you were informed with the latest information concerning the outage with Change Healthcare.

Effective April 1st, Change Healthcare is now allowing PracticeSuite customers using Relay to submit claims. Please keep in mind that this is the first step of many to get Change Healthcare services fully restored.

For our customers using Emdeon, we are still waiting on Change Healthcare for more updates regarding claim submissions. Your patient is greatly appreciated.

To clarify, only Relay claims can be submitted. Emdeon still does not have a date for when Change Healthcare can have it back up and running.

03/18/2024 :

As we begin the week, we wanted to make sure you were informed with the latest information concerning the outage.

Change Healthcare/UHG / Optum put out a press release last week. There were some very encouraging updates in the release such as, “We expect to begin testing and re-establish connectivity to our claims network and software on March 18, restoring service through that week.

In addition, All Channel Partners were informed that testing and restoration will be a phased roll out plan. Change Healthcare will work with each Channel Partner to test and restore connectivity. Once we have more information on the timeline, we will notify you.

Please access the press release using the link here. For additional information and updates on Change Healthcare, please visit: Information on the Change Healthcare Cyber Response – UnitedHealth Group

For any questions and concerns related to submitting claims to clearinghouse, please reach out to support@practicesuite.com

03/01/2024 :

As you may be aware that Change Health, the clearing house, used that we transmit your claims to payers had a cyber-attack incident. Specifically, a threat actor gained access to one of Change Healthcare environments. Once Change Healthcare became aware of the outside threat on February 21, 2024, in the interest of protecting our partners and patients, they took immediate action to disconnect Change Healthcare’s systems to prevent further impact. This means some of your claim submissions have been affected. PracticeSuite is doing everything from our side to handle questions and concerns from our clients and collaborating with Change Health to address them.

Please visit their website to learn more information. We encourage you to subscribe to their updates by clicking on this link: https://status.changehealthcare.com

We are actively monitoring the situation and will bring updates as we learn from Change Health.

02/22/2024 :

Change Healthcare clearinghouse services are currently unavailable due to a cyber security incident. All transactions including claims, ERA, eligibility, and reports are affected. Change Healthcare has not provided an ETA for the restoration of the services. PracticeSuite continues to monitor the situation and we will provide further updates as and when they are made available to us. Please note that payers that use Change Healthcare’s services for the routing of claims and other services may also be disrupted due to this outage. We apologize for the inconvenience.

Is it possible to see all the old claim statuses (prior to 02/18/2024) submitted by PracticeSuite to Change Healthcare in the PracticeSuite Claims Dashboard?

We are awaiting an update from Change Healthcare.

Do we need to click “SEND TO RELAYHEALTH” for claim submission?

We can use the “SEND” button to send claims from unsubmitted batches

Is it possible to monitor the claim status through the Change Healthcare portal?

Currently, the Change Healthcare portal is down, so we can’t login to the portal and check the claim status there. We are still waiting on an update from Change Healthcare

However, we can view the claim status in PracticeSuite under Charges >Submit Claims>Claim Dashboard>Accepted Bucket/ CH Rejected/ Payer Rejected.

Is it possible to verify the status of claims in Practicesuite after submitting them from 04/01/2024 onwards?

We can view the claim status in Practicesuite under Charges >Submit Claims>Claim Dashboard>Accepted Bucket/ CH Rejected/ Payer Rejected.

Do we need to rebill the claims which are listed under Pending Bucket?

We advise that you rebill from the pending bucket and resubmit the claims.

If already submitted, you will get a rejection due to duplication.

If you received a rejection on claims submitted from (04/01/2024) by Change Healthcare due to missing or invalid information that states “ 2) Entity's id number. Note: This code requires use of an Entity Code. PAYER ID IS EXPIRED”

This is due to the payer not currently being connected to Change Healthcare for claim submissions. We are pending an update from Change Healthcare as to when they will be reconnected

Would the previous ERAs be automatically uploaded from Change Healthcare to PracticeSuite, or would we have to manually retrieve the ERA from PracticeSuite for each accounts?

Change Healthcare has not provided PracticeSuite with instructions on how to complete this yet. We are anticipating an update by end of week

For claims submitted and approved (02/19/2024) awaiting payment, when will we receive the funds?

If you have received the ERA but have not received the funds, please contact your payer directly.

Will eligibility work when the services are restored?

No, Change Healthcare is in the testing phase for eligibility connections. Change Healthcare is hopeful to have eligibility up and running within the next 2 to 3 weeks.
